Staff	CVN banned users • Verification

Staff and senior staff may confirm users. Unconfirmed users cannot give bot commands. To confirm a user:

Make sure that the user:
- has signed the confirmation page
- has at least 300 edits (click the "count" link to the right of their username to check this)
- is in #countervandalism
- is verified (do /whois nick and make sure it says something like "is identified to services")
  If your client does not support this do /msg nickserv info nick and see if the account is "Last seen / User seen: now"
- is not on the list of banned users. Never confirm users who are on the ban list.
Check the confirmation page's edit history to make sure that a user didn't sign someone else's name.
Set the autovoice with /msg chanserv access #channel add nick voiced
- IMPORTANT! Do not use their hostmasks when adding users to any access list ! Please use their usernames instead.
Tell the user they have been set.
- They will have to part and rejoin the channel before they get voice, or you can do /msg chanserv #channel voice nick
- NEW! If the request is for +o (such as local_op) don't forget to log it to the Rights Log by saying:

  (diffid refers to the revision id of the edit on the Verifications-page)
Remove their signature from the confirmation page (or undo from hist). If there are no active requests less than a day old, blank the queue.
